I love Mondays! My friends and family always ask me the big question: WHY?
Why would anyone love the day most of us have to return to our jobs after a weekend? I love Mondays because I’m at my very best on Monday’s. I have been given an opportunity to step back from my regular work week with a weekend. I have focused on my family and myself and most importantly, I have been to church to share in fellowship with other Christians, and have been inspired to be my best self through the sermon that was preached. I have had the "bread of life", and now equipped and ready to face the week head-on. I am my very best on Monday.
What is your super power we are asked as educators? Mine is, The Word of God. I am unapologetically a Christian. I will not be as bold as to say, ‘I am always at my best” but I strive each day to uphold Christian standards and what better day than Monday to get the "ball rolling".
Mondays, after the recharging of my spirit, I am geared up and ready for the challenges of the week. How about you? What particular day of the week do you love? Each day is a new day to live the life we have been created to live. We should always strive to be our very best selves.
It is also a mindset. Sometimes, we tend to follow others who say they hate certain days of the week. Ask yourself, why do you like certain days and hate others? Have a reason for yourself and then, think of all the blessings you have to be given the opportunity to go to work and have the ability to care for yourself and your family. Think of countless others who would gladly trade places with you. Yes, I know some people are difficult to work with: How about you, are you a difficult person to work with? Do you make the work space easier for others to collaborate and accomplish the goals of the organization you work for?
My gift to you; Be grateful for the day. It's a gift in itself. You are here and you are valued. Each day should be a day of thanksgiving, not just to be alive not just on Monday but every day. I strive to live each day with eternity in mind. I ask myself each day” If this is your last day, at the end of the day, would I say I lived my best today? If you live with glory after death in the forefront of your mind, you would be kinder, gentler, accommodating and living with purpose and gratitude. Live well!!!
That, my friend, is the gift for today.
