Strength for Today

Unwrapping the Gift

Finding the balance means you have been available to everyone around you and you realize that you deserve time for yourself to just take care of YOU.

No guilt... this is "Me Time"!

Many times we involve ourselves in so many things and we tend to stretch ourselves very thin. We work hard and our friends and family know that they can depend on us so usually, we are the first person everyone runs to when there is a situation and they need a "savior". Find the balance even though you might want to resolve everyone's issues.

If you do not find time to balance it all with time to nourish yourself, as we know, when stretched too thin, there tends to be a tear and the end result is never beneficial for anyone that is in our lives... including ourselves.

When we stretch ourselves too thin is when we say things to people that we want to take back but can't. Other times we indulge in harmful behaviors because of our inability to say no. We often want to please everyone and can’t really please anyone.

My gift to you: It’s great to be the 'first one' that is on everyone’s list when they need a shoulder to lean on, borrow some money, or just a sympathetic ear to listen. If you can’t give the same care to yourself that you give to others, soon the ones you are helping won’t have you to care for them. Finding the balance and caring for yourself is a better example to show others how to care for themselves. That, my friend, is my gift to you.
