Strength for Today

Last week, my brother Benji and I were talking about the world and the realities of our lives’. We discussed how certain incidents that have happened changed who we are and how we continue to draw strength to keep moving forward. We shared various situations and how some people learned from what happened and others decide they need more lessons from the school of hard knocks before they learn. We shared stories of people we know who should have learned from devastating situations but they needed more devastation before they came to terms with the lesson they should have learned already. We even talked about our own family and how certain circumstances should have brought us closer as a family to make us see the light of what life revealed but while some of us saw the blinding light, others had to have eye surgery to remove the cataracts of indifference to finally see through more trying life lessons.

My gift to you: Are you one of those people who refuses to learn from Life? Are you paying attention to what is happening in the world, at your place of work, in your home, and personally in your life? Everything that occurs in our journey through life is a lesson to be learned or a mistake to be repeated. When we learn from those lessons we become better people. When we do not learn, we tend to repeat or recycle the mistakes we should have corrected in our lives. As we continue to live, let’s use the lessons life throws at us to improve our lives. When we do not learn from Life’s lessons then we are sure to receive deeper scars from the wounds of hard knocks. Learn to use Life as lessons to your benefit which means you will see everything that happens as platforms to elevate yourself. Move on up! That, my friend, is my gift to you.
