The conversations between my sister Martina and me range from intense, to informative, and then silly sisterly conversations. Whenever I have victories to share or troubles in my life, I will reach for the phone and call my sister. Today, our conversation was whether or not we think the other can live and survive in a Tiny House. We talked about what we would give up if we adopted the TH lifestyle. We shared our opinions during the commercial and then the owners of the TH showed their compost toilet and at that point, my sister and I uttered a resounding "NO", about that particular TH. I always leave our interactions feeling blessed by our combined love for each other but most importantly our love for God.
As you read this blog, do you have someone in your life that you can just be your true authentic self with? Most of us hide behind facades because of the high expectations people have of us and the false lives that some of us have chosen to live. Even though my sister is older than I am, we have formed a bond over the years that allows us to be vulnerable with each other and the reassuring peace of mind that regardless of my actions and our disagreements on diverse subject matters, my sister loves me regardless and in spite of…
We ended our “talk” with the acknowledgment of God’s great love for humanity. Listed below are some verses to give you the reassurance of God's great love and his greatest gift to mankind.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.
1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
Be encouraged that even though you might not have a confidant here on earth, our heavenly father loves you beyond measure and he is always available to "chat".
Stay blessed.
